Julia Hutchinson is a Nashville-based performing artist and songwriter whose distinctive sound is a blend of country, pop, and folk. A Boston native, Julia’s musical journey began at age five when she started piano lessons and quickly fell in love with the power of music. Influenced by legends like Elton John and The Beatles, her songwriting combines the emotional storytelling of country with the modern energy of pop, resulting in a sound that's been described as “Gracie Abrams meets country music.”
Since relocating to Nashville in 2021, Julia has made her mark on the city's live music scene, performing at iconic venues such as 3rd & Lindsley, The Bluebird Cafe, and the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. Her songs have not only resonated with audiences but have also earned her cuts with other artists and features in short films. In 2024, Julia was selected for the prestigious Johnny Mercer Writer’s Project, an opportunity that further sharpened her craft and connected her with some of Nashville's top-tier songwriters.
Currently, Julia is celebrating the release of her debut EP “Here We Are Again”. The project continues to sharpen her country-pop flare with three singles and two additional tracks. When not recording, she is training for a half marathon and going on hikes with friends! With her powerful vocals and compelling songwriting, Julia is excited to continue pushing the boundaries of country music, weaving in elements of pop, folk, and a coastal flare to create something truly unique.
SWEETNUR is the music project of songwriter Chris Nurthen. Chris is many things -- a husband, father of four, Navy servicemember, mortgage lender, student at Belmont University -- but at his core he is an artist learning how to make songs in the beautiful struggle of ordinary life.
Much of Chris’s writing lives in the tension between ambition and presence, money and meaning, faith and doubt, striving and peace. His songs aren’t written from a distance, but from long commutes back and forth to Nashville, late nights after the kids are down, conversations in parking lots, studio sessions squeezed between responsibilities, and the quiet moments that somehow still manage to hold everything together.
Currently working on his upcoming record with acclaimed producer Tommy Sims, Chris writes under the name SWEETNUR with a simple hope: to create music that feels less like performance and more like fellowship — songs that help people feel seen in their own human condition.
Influenced by storytellers who write honestly about real people and real life, SWEETNUR blends soul, folk, and singer-songwriter traditions into music that feels grounded, reflective, and quietly hopeful. Whether writing about love, work, family, faith, or the search for peace in a restless world, the goal remains the same: let the songs speak plainly, and trust that listeners will find themselves somewhere inside them.
